On Sunday 25 May 2025, the premises of the Pôjd Education Centre in Spišská Belá turned into a strategic battlefield. A qualifying tournament in Catan (Osadníci z Catanu) was held here as part of the official road to the Slovak Championship in this popular board game.
The tournament was organised by the civic association Expression (FACE CLUB) in cooperation with ALBI Slovensko, who donated valuable prizes for the winners – board games for the top three places.
27 players took part in the tournament, playing four rounds over an intense five hours. The atmosphere was full of concentration, fun, tactics and friendly competition. After every game the tension grew and the standings kept shifting.
The tournament was won by Spišská Belá native Klaudia Pajerová, who took first place and with it a spot at the Slovak Championship. Five more of the most successful players from the overall standings advance with her.
Thank you to all the players for the great atmosphere, to the organisers for the smooth running, and to our partner ALBI Slovensko for their support. We believe this was not the last tournament in Spišská Belá and that we will meet again – with new players, new experiences and the same enthusiasm for board games.
