4 webinars, 4 different topics, plenty of inspiration

Over the months of April to June, a series of four webinars for teachers took place, focused on the adaptation period and children's return to school. We kicked off the series with the topic Classroom Climate, where we discussed the importance of climate not only in the adaptation period but also its pillars, which are relationships, environment, group dynamics, rules, group identity and learning.

At the next webinar the lecturer guided us through Dialogue and Cooperation – two main themes of the Philosophy for Children method. This webinar was interactive and included an adventurous story of two frogs and an exploration of the concept of courage. It also included short group work in which participants argued and defended their opinions and attitudes.

The topic of the third webinar was motivation and its importance, where the lecturer responded to model situations that participants brought to the webinar and also recommended how to improve motivation and the ability to deal with more difficult situations in the school environment.

We closed the series with the topic Coaching Techniques at School, where we tried out 4 different coaching techniques in practice. After carrying out each technique we shared our emotions and feelings, as well as further use in professional practice.

Thanks to running these webinars online, we were able to bring our activities closer not only to educators from our region, but also to teachers and special educational needs teachers from Liptovský Mikuláš, Komárno, Kežmarok, Svit, Spišská Stará Ves, Slovenská Ves and others. We thank everyone who took part in our webinars for their active participation and we believe the knowledge they gained will be useful in their practice.

The series of webinars took place thanks to the support of the Slovenské elektrárne Endowment Fund at the Pontis Foundation.
