During the spring holidays, Face Club in Spišská Belá turned into a place full of fairy tales, games and shared experiences. Each day was dedicated to a different story, and to match the theme of the day we prepared a range of creative, active and team activities. We always began the day by watching a fairy-tale film together and then carried on with a programme inspired by its story. In total, over the week we welcomed 231 children.

Monday belonged to Mulan 🐉, and 42 children came to the club. After watching the film together we played the “Ninja” energiser, which got the children nicely moving. In the creative workshop they made dragons from toilet roll tubes, and we finished the day with an obstacle course that tested their stamina, speed, precision and courage.

On Tuesday we were swept into the world of emotions from the film Inside Out 🧠, and 54 children joined in. After watching the film together, the children drew their own island of memories and, through various activities, searched for “lost memories”. We talked together about emotions and tried out, in a playful way, how we can recognise and name them.

Wednesday belonged to Snow White 🍎, which 30 children came to enjoy. After the film we set the “7 Dwarfs” challenge, made up of several smaller tasks and games. In the creative workshop the children made their own mirrors, reminding them of the famous scene from the story. This day was also special because we had a visit from 📻 Rádio Regina Východ, who did a live broadcast straight from Face Club, so listeners could get a glimpse of the atmosphere of our fairy-tale holidays.

On Thursday we took our inspiration from Up 🎈 and as many as 62 children visited that day. After watching the film together, the children drew their own little houses and used finger paints to make colourful balloons. Shooting with soft bows and various sensory challenges, such as a touch and a sound challenge, also drew great interest.

The last day belonged to Rapunzel 👑 and 43 children came to Face Club. After the film we built a tower together using string, and the children made their own badges. At the end of the week we gave all participants certificates for taking part in the Fairy-Tale Holidays.

After each programme the children still had time to play table football ⚽, ping-pong 🏓, air hockey or board games 🎲 and simply spend a moment together with friends. The atmosphere was made even nicer by volunteers who dressed up in costumes of fairy-tale characters and so helped create a lovely environment.

To finish, a few interesting numbers from the whole week:

✨ 231 children
🎬 5 fairy-tale films
📅 5 days of programme
🙋 more than 15 volunteers
🎲 more than 20 board games
🎨 dozens of creative crafts
🏓 loads of matches of ping-pong, table football and air hockey
🍕 and of course – lots of pizza eaten

The Fairy-Tale Holidays at Face Club have once again shown that holidays can be full of imagination, friendship and shared experiences.
