The Children of Slovakia Foundation under its Safe Children (Deti v bezpečí) has supported our town's project called Let's Talk About the Soul (Hovorme o duši),  in whose activities we will take part as a partner. The project focuses on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people and was among the 14 projects supported out of a total of 92 entries.

The aim of the project is to support mental health and wellbeing that have been affected by the pandemic, among young people and teachers alike. Through the inspiring Mladí Mladým (Young to Young) conference and the stories of young people, we want to support young people and inspire them not to be afraid to talk about their inner lives.

We would also like to educate teachers on these topics, who have had to respond flexibly to a host of changes since the outbreak of the pandemic, learn new things and be empathetic, and who often forget about themselves and their own wellbeing in the process. That is why we will also run four expert workshops focused on self-care.

We care about developing and maintaining relationships in class groups. That is why, through team-building activities we want to support mutual relationships and the socialisation of class groups at our primary schools, and so continue the tradition of last year's pilot programme Good Contact (Dobrý kontakt).

By creating travelling educational roll-ups and running discussion circles we want to bring ideas about mental health into the school environment, among pupils and teachers. The aim is for them to get to know the aspects and importance of this topic more deeply, not be afraid to talk about it and, if necessary, seek help.
