Signing of partnership agreements for the SpoluBližšie project

On Monday afternoon, 27 September 2021 , partnership agreements were signed in the newly built community centre for the project SpoluBližšie.

The SpoluBližšie project is supported by the EEA and Norway Grants and by the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatisation of the Slovak Republic. The town council accepted and approved the project on 24 June 2021.

The aim of the SpoluBližšie project is to build a multifunctional centre serving children and young people from the town and surrounding area. Besides the FACE CLUB youth club, which for over 10 years has allowed our children and young people to spend their free time to the full, the multifunctional centre will also include the Pôjd Education Centre, which will serve non-formal and experiential education, as well as inspiring, innovative activities, coworking activities and counselling. By building the education centre we will help raise awareness of non-formal education, but above all we will create a space for non-formal activities focused on preventive programmes, such as raising awareness of important topics, activities focused on tolerance and understanding, working with the media and media literacy, which to a large extent influences young people's attitudes, as well as activities focused on inclusion. The project will involve several partners. One of them is the civic association Expression o.z., along with the Kežmarok Platform for Social Inclusion and the Centre for Children and Families Spišská Belá; the foreign partner is the Norwegian partner organisation Newschool.

The project will also support the construction of a Community Garden next to the newly built community centre, which will serve children and young people, as well as the wider public, for outdoor activities and spending free time outside.

Through the supported activities we will create a multifunctional youth centre that can respond to the rapidly changing needs of children and young people and also provide them with adequate support for those needs.
