On Thursday 23 July 2026, a talk titled Secrets of the Universe and Its Exploration at CERN took place at Pôjd in Spišská Belá, attracting people interested in science, space and modern technology. 🔬
👨🔬 The guest of the event was Dominik Vošček, who is directly involved in research at CERN. During the talk he showed participants how the world’s largest particle physics laboratory works and explained why research into elementary particles matters for a better understanding of the universe.

⚛️ Visitors learned many interesting facts about experiments carried out with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), as well as about discoveries that have significantly influenced science and everyday life. They heard, for example, about the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 and the birth of the World Wide Web (WWW), which billions of people use today. 🌐
💬 The talk offered a unique chance to look into the world of cutting-edge science through someone who is a direct part of it. There was also time for questions and discussion, during which participants could learn more about how CERN works and what scientists do.
💙 Thank you to Dominik Vošček for an engaging and inspiring talk, in which he brought us the world of cutting-edge science straight from the CERN environment. Thanks also to all the visitors who found the time to spend an afternoon discovering the fascinating world of modern physics.
