On Sunday 24 May, the Pôjd premises in Spišská Belá turned into a place full of strategy, trading and tense duels. The qualifying tournament in the game The Settlers of Catan attracted 23 players from various towns across Slovakia – from Žilina, Čadca, Podolínec, Poprad, as well as local players from Spišská Belá and the surrounding area.
The atmosphere throughout the day was very competitive, yet friendly and full of surprises 👀 Players fought for every point and the standings changed several times during the tournament. The big surprise was above all the children and young players, who held their own among the more experienced participants and took the top places 🏆
🏅 Victory and qualification for the Slovak Championships
The tournament was won by Matej Chupáč, who secured a direct place in the final of the Slovak Catan Championships with his play.
With 23 players taking part, those in 1st to 6th place went straight through to the Slovak final. Players in 7th to 12th place earned a qualifying point for further tournaments.
🤝 Players from all over Slovakia and a great atmosphere
The tournament brought together players from several towns across Slovakia and once again showed that board games can create a wonderful community atmosphere. There was no shortage of healthy rivalry, plenty of tactics and new encounters among Catan fans 🎲
The tournament was organised by FACE CLUB under the auspices of the civic association Expression, in cooperation with ALBI Slovensko.
