The Manor Games in Strážky once again brought an afternoon full of experiences, discovery and fun for young and old. This year too, FACE CLUB prepared a themed programme, the Courtyard of Traditions, which took visitors back to the times when life in a Slovak village was full of honest work, crafts and beautiful traditions. 🇸🇰
🏡 A journey through the Courtyard of Traditions
After registering, the children set off through the Courtyard of Traditions, where 9 themed stations inspired by the lives of our ancestors were waiting for them. Each one represented a different part of everyday village life and gave the children a chance to try tasks that were once completely taken for granted.
The young visitors helped the farmwife bring in firewood for heating, searched for runaway goslings, got to know healing herbs, protected a flock of sheep from wolves, put together Slovak proverbs, discovered interesting facts about the regions of Slovakia, made traditional paper toys, got to know old craft tools and, together with a storyteller, recalled the magic of Slovak folk tales. ✨
🎯 Every task counted
At each station, the children completed age-appropriate tasks and earned stamps on their game card for completing them successfully. After finishing the whole route, a reward of stickers and sweets awaited them. The greatest reward, however, was the smiles on their faces, the new knowledge and the shared experiences with their families. 😊
❤️ Traditions that connect generations
We are very glad that, through games too, we managed to bring the lives of our grandparents closer to the children and show them how important mutual help, skill, crafts, respect for nature and Slovak traditions were. We believe that experiences like these help build a relationship with our history, our cultural heritage and the values worth passing on to future generations.

A huge thank-you also goes to all 24 FACE CLUB volunteers, who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to preparing and delivering the whole programme. Thanks to their willingness, creativity and smiling faces, the children could enjoy an afternoon full of joy, discovery and unforgettable experiences. 💚
