Primary school pupils in Spišská Belá had a unique opportunity to see the production #Generation Z, which opens up topics of risky behaviour in the online world.
In eight sketches we learn about the struggles of young people connected with life online. We might mention, for example, Alex, whom her parents consider addicted to technology, although they do not realise that they themselves cannot tear themselves away from their phones and excuse it with their work. Lea shows us that the life of an influencer is not easy at all, since followers expect perfection and originality in every post and do not shy away from posting hateful comments that hurt. Viki learned that discussing things face to face is not as easy as on the internet, where she can report or block content that disturbs her.
We won't give away any more, so that you don't lose the motivation to see this production with your own eyes.
After the pupils watched the life stories performed by actors from the Biele divadlo theatre in Bratislava, they moved from the cinema hall to the premises of FACE CLUB and Pôjd. They had the chance to talk with the production's dramaturg and director and with the trainers from the digiQ organisation, which has long been dedicated to topics of digital citizenship and online safety. Helping to get the discussion going were also digiPEERS – Miška, Dušan, Samuel and Jakub – our volunteers from Spišská Belá, and we were also visited by Patrik from Stará Ľubovňa and Radko from Košice, so that in this training we could take a peer-to-peer approach. The actors themselves also joined the discussions, which the pupils greatly appreciated.
The young audience found the scenes realistic; they themselves already had personal experience of some of these situations. At the same time, during the discussions they offered their own solutions that help them cope with the pressure of the online world: switching off social media, meeting people who support them, having someone to talk to, changing their mindset so that they don't blame themselves for how they look.
Pôjd Education Centre thanks everyone who lent a hand and made this day as great as it was.
